PAUSE FOR A MOMENT
Frozen in time
NAS BEACH, IKARIA
In a picturesque cove, close to the village of Armenistis in Ikaria, the beautiful sandy beach of Nas combines the big blue of the sea with the green dense forests and natural scenery, creating a dreamy landscape, waiting to be discovered. Not many times, if any, in life you’ll have the chance to dive in crystal clear water, sunbathe and then walk up to the 2,000+ year old Temple of Artemis. Nas beach is an open secret, as chill a beach as anybody could ask for. After a rocky climb down, you’re on a small, gorgeous beach backed by a pond, surrounded by cliffs and forests. Halares canyon ends here with a small sweet water lake. There are huge waves, a strong undertow and a whole bunch of people hanging out, much in its 20s and 30s, with a hippie/hipster vibe. Nudist population exists here, but it is minimal. This is a great spot for strong swimmers and laid-back people, one of the best and most impressive beaches in Greece, where sunrise is an experience, while sunset rivals that of Santorini.
