Karlovasi Tanning Museum / Housed in the building of an old tannerie, the museum reflects in the best way the history of tanning in Karlovasi, where between the years 1880-1930 there were about 50 tanneries (tabakika) covering thus the 25% of the country’s production. Natural History Museum of the Aegean / The exhibition is realized in five departments, Paleontological, Zoological, Rocks and Minerals, Marine Life, Botanological. The fossils belong to animals that lived in the island 8-10 million years ago, during the Early Miocene.
