Tucked away in the lonely heights of the Arcadian mountains, stands the Temple of Apollo Epicurius, located at Bassae, Oichalia. A well hidden secret few people will tell you about, that boasts of some daring architectural features, rendering it as one of the best-preserved monuments of classical antiquity.

In the center of Peloponnese, at Bassae of ancient Figalia, stands imposing the temple of Apollo Epicurius. The inspirational mind and constructor of the temple is considered to be Iktinos, a great architect of the Antiquity, who designed the Parthenon together with Kallikrates. This universal architectonic gem was the first of Greek monuments which was enlisted by UNESCO as a World Heritage Monument, in 1986.
